Midyear Meeting – 2025
The Armenian Bar Association proudly acknowledges California Supreme Court Justice Marvin R. Baxter’s (Ret.) leadership and support as the Honorary Chair of the 2025 Midyear Meeting.

Justice Marvin R. Baxter, retired Associate Justice of the California Supreme Court, was born in Fowler, California, and raised on a family farm in Fresno County. A graduate of California State University, Fresno (B.A., Economics) and Hastings College of the Law (J.D.), he began his legal career as a Fresno County deputy district attorney and later practiced civil law for 13 years.

He served as Appointments Secretary to Governor George Deukmejian, advising on over 700 judicial appointments, before joining the judiciary himself—first on the Court of Appeal in 1988 and then on the California Supreme Court in 1991, where he served until retirement.

Justice Baxter has been deeply involved in legal and educational communities, holding leadership roles in bar associations and alumni organizations. A founding member of the Armenian Bar Association, he will serve as Honorary Chair of our 2025 Midyear Meeting in San Francisco.
